Case Histories
Some Actual Cases we have worked on.
Clients have used our services in such legal situations as:
A law firm in East Texas discovered someone in their law firm was stealing uncashed checks and cashing them. They had narrowed the list down to two suspects. (One executive secretary and one courier). Our analysis concluded that the courier had "endorsed" and "cashed" the checks to himself.
Before they could fire him, they needed a written "letter of opinion" from a "qualified handwriting expert" so that they could fire him, protect themselves legally, and file criminal charges. The executive secretary was cleared of all suspicions.
A publisher's assistant forged his name to his bank signature cards (giving her access to his account) and created a faked "bill of sale" document in an attempt to embezzle $60,000 worth of money from his bank account and get the legal rights to his books. This case still pending.
A lawyer asked us to supply a written letter of opinion that a check was actually forged. The defendant claimed that the signature on the check to the Funeral Home was signed by their grandmother. (Which was a bit difficult, since it was for her own funeral and it was dated one day after her death.) The lawyer was just being certain he would win the case... he did.
People have used our services in such personal situations as:
College student's roommate stole her credit card and charged up a big bill. The parents wanted to know if the roommate or their daughter really signed the bill. (It was the roommate.)
A Nashville high school teacher was concerned about threats written on the blackboard. He suspected it was a certain troublemaker, but wasn't sure. The handwriting exam of the photographs of the writings proved that the suspect boy was not the writer. This set the teacher's mind at ease.
A woman had been concerned with the suspicious events of her brothers "suicide" over a year ago. Her mission for the "document exam" was peace of mind, not legal action. However, after consultation with C.L. Baggett, her suspicions were verified. Her brother did not write the "suicide" note and therefore probably did not commit suicide. This information was taken to the local police and the they re-opened the case. Also, the Life Insurance company started their own investigation into the beneficiaries.
However, if you think you might need an expert witness in a court of law, make sure you read the legal page.
This page will be updated soon. Please check back. We are in the process of transcribing a recent interview with our Chief Document Examiner and the text transcript of the audio tape will be posted here for your review.
There will be full case summaries and descriptions of the process. You will find cases that can guide you on your own situation.

CHARLOTTE MEEKS

Mr. Baggett,
My boss's husband forged his wifes name to a check and I was accused, charged, and arrested for theft and forgery. Thanks to your handwriting analysis genius, you told us who did it, and I am free from a 5 year jail sentence. Bless you.
STEPHANIE MANUEL
EUNICE, LOUISIANA 70583
Mr. Baggett,
My case has all the elements which both Sherlock Holmes and Perry Mason would have loved: intrigue, enemies, mystery, suspense, sexual molestation of a teen, (threats and accusations, at least), experts advise and testimony, potential criminal charges, and TROs (Temporary Restraining Orders), forgery, lawsuits, falsified documents, attempted estate fraud, discovery, handwriting expert disagreements, Court Room Jurisdiction disputes, surprises and minor miracles, startling realism and originalitybetter than a dime novel. But you solved it and even testified in court by phone from Texas (saving me thousands of dollars) and won the case for me. I Will Love You Forever!! Thanks.
JULIE PETERMAN
DELAWARE, OHIO
Dear C.L.,
My x-psycho son-in-law forged my daughters handwriting to a nasty letter, filed criminal charges against her and me and then submitted forged, false documents to the Superior court at Van Nuys, California. He went even further to accuse me of sexual assault against the grandchildren. Since we received your professional expert opinion letter that he is the forger, we now have a chance to survive. God Bless You, Curt.
STEVE
LOS ANGELES, CA. 91401
Mr. Baggett,
Thanks you for your professional help in yet another case. Judge John OBrien of the Bay County Court in Florida has appointed you as a handwriting expert so you can testify if we have to go to court. Thanks
ROBERT S. SOMBATHY ESQ.
PANAMA CITY, FL 32412
Mr. Baggett,
I am a victim of forgery, the four page forged document presented to the court gave up all my rights to everything and the court granted a "default/uncontested" judgment against me. With your letter I am going to court to ask that the "judgment" be set aside due to 1) fraud, 2) perjury, and 3) presenting a forged document in a court of law. I really do appreciate all your help.
